This study evaluated the regional hydrogeological setting of the Ring-Border, Pedigree and Chinchaga gas fields of British Columbia and Alberta in order to determine what the major hydraulic seals are, and to what degree the various formations are connected. It also examined these fields to determine the extent of the individual hydraulic systems and what the potential gas-charged area is, and from this, make suggestions on the future development potential of this area. The updip eastern extent of the Bluesky, Gething and Montney hydrogeological systems are evaluated. As well, the updip limits of the Ring-Border type play and the hydrogeological setting and exploitation potential of the Boyer gas field are reviewed.
