Ball & Seat frac technology is an open hole completion technique run in an uncemented liner, that includes ports with pairs of packers. A port is controlled by sending a ball of a given diameter that seats and opens the port. The purpose of this study is to evaluate and summarize the open hole ball drop system trends, activity, ball seat failures, and milling issues using the data that are sourced from the commercial Well Completions & Frac Database (WCFD). Reservoir performance is not the focus of the report, but rather the mechanics, efficiency and practical deployment of the technology.
