CDL has developed a forecast for proppant (frac sand) usage throughout the major resource play fairways in WCSB. Resource plays evaluated include Bakken, Cardium, Duvernay (Kaybob), Duvernay (south), Montney gas, Montney oil, Shaunavon, Spirit River and Viking. These plays are all developed with horizontal multi-stage frac'd wells and require large amounts of proppant. Proppant forecasts include tonnage and grain size estimates.
