A geomechanical analysis was conducted to gain a better understanding of historical drilling problems and to recommend solutions. In this study, drilling problems were evaluated in horizontal wells targeting the Falher and Wilrich formations in and around T47 R17 W5M, with stress regime and pore pressure being key to the analysis. Mud weights and well azimuth may be factors that an operator needs to modify to improve wellbore stability.
