As part of CDL’s CCUS Intelligence Package, this collection of geothermal gradient (GTG) and isotherm maps provides a valuable resource for calculating present-day subsurface temperatures across Western Canada. The maps are featured in the CDL Digest and Map Series and include coverage of the following intervals:

» Permian and Younger
» Pennsylvanian and Older

The geothermal gradients and isotherms were originally mapped for CDL’s Gas-Liquids and Light Oil Fairways Atlas (GLLO), published in 2013. The geothermal gradient data were most recently updated in 2020 using new data, and the isotherms for each interval were subsequently recalculated.
