The overall objective of this study is to define the hydrogeology of the Mannville Group within the Twining area (T. 30-35, R. 17-28W4M and T. 36-38, R. 21-28W4) in order to identify prospective areas for coalbed methane (CBM) development. Within this study, nominal Deep Basin edges and approximate extents of transition zones between the Deep Basin and conventional systems are defined for both Upper and Lower Mannville. Conclusions made state that the lower-pressured region within the Deep Basin are the most favourable CBM prospect in terms of depth to reservoir and reservoir quality, with the higher-pressured region within the transition zone being the most favourable CBM prospect with regards to reserves.
