This report presents a high-level, Stage 1A and 1B carbon storage resource assessment of the Basal Cambrian Sandstone (BCS) saline aquifer as a prospective target for geological CO₂ storage, covering over 2,650 townships (~250,000 km²) across Alberta.
The primary objective is to characterize the storage resource at a regional scale and provide guidance for future site screening and site selection, in alignment with the SPE Storage Resource Management System (SRMS) framework.
Detailed geological and hydrodynamic overviews of the Basal Cambrian system with supporting maps including structure, isopach, porosity, net reservoir, pressure, temperature, density and storage estimates.
