CDL evaluates the supply and demand for proppant (frac sand) in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Historical proppant demand is evaluated by play type, operator, service company (pumper) and sand grain size. Proppant supply is discussed for specific sand specifications. Cost estimates for various sand qualities and transportation distances are provided. Most of the data evaluated came from public sources, however several operators and service providers were also polled to inform this study.
