Using our extensive subsurface knowledge and GIS capabilities, CDL has established workflows to evaluate carbon sequestration targets and answer the key questions: Is there a storage opportunity? Is the storage capacity of the CCUS opportunity large enough to sequester the CO2 in the given time frame? Is the storage opportunity suitable?

A significant portion of the Cadomin Formation in the Bilbo area of west-central Alberta is within the "Deep Basin Gas Window". This study extends previous work into the Noel area of northeastern British Columbia, and defines the limit of the "Deep Basin Gas Window", as well as mapping any pressure breaks within the Deep Basin. Six distinct pressure systems can be mapped within the Deep Basin in the Noel area. The Cadomin Deep Basin in the Noel area is a continuation of the Deep Basin systems identified in the Bilbo area.
