This project updates the stress mapping of the Devonian Duvernay in west-central Alberta that was done for CDL’s 2014 Duvernay Gas Liquids and Geomechanics Project (DVRN). The objective of the FCMU-1 study was to better understand the causes of induced seismicity (IS) related to fracturing operations in the Duvernay. Since the 2014 study was completed, the data available for characterizing the stress state have increased substantially. This increase allows for more detail and higher resolution of the stress state of the Duvernay and contiguous formations. The focus of this study is in the Kaybob–Fox Creek areas.
