Geological and hydrogeological assessment of Lower Paleozoic saline aquifers in the Grande Prairie area of west-central Alberta to evaluate CO₂ sequestration potential. The study identified the Mount Whyte Formation as the primary storage target, with the Basal Cambrian Sand as a secondary target, and assessed reservoir quality, containment, hydrodynamics, pore volume, storage capacity and injectivity to support development of a potential carbon sequestration hub.

The West-Central Alberta Regional CCS Screening Study is part of a three-part regional study. Learn more about Part 1 and Part 2.
